don't fight your instincts

So I haven't been writing much because I have surprisingly had a busy week. I do still have pictures to add however of whatever sparked some inspiration in me this week. They are all of random things, but some of them are pretty neat and original! (I hope). I really do take my Nikon everywhere as you can probably tell by now, but this really proves it. You never want to be caught empty handed if something neat catches your eye! Hope you'll like them!

I was sitting in my car waiting for my friend to get home and was bored.
Why not snap some shots?
This is pretty neat how everythings glowing (as it should lol)

Here is one of my prized possessions right now, my purse.
The shadows add a lot of depth to the photo, making the colours stand out more!

I found this guy all by himself at the dollar store and couldn't leave him alone!
He is so cute lol so I put him in my car :)
Doesn't he look happy now?

No integra's were harmed in the making of this photo.

This 'hole in the wall' leads into our downtown area.
It looks like a whole other different area on the other side.
The door is wide open and the path is clear!

Here's the 'tegra at a much happier time lol
with his proud owner behind the wheel.

Here's our new advertisement!

She looks so innocent here!
It is such a cute picture

Look at her little hands holding the cracker!
This is so adorable, but also interesting at the same time.

Keep on snappin'!

let's all go for a picnik!

So this time I've decided to do something a little different. I'm sure everyone has heard of the new editting site that everyone loves; Picnik. Most people that I know love it and a few people think it is kind of lame. But what is wrong with a website that make editting photos so easy that anyone can do it? Everyone wants a way they can express themselves and Picnik just makes it that much easier! I think it is a great idea and use the site quite a bit myself. If your bored it's a neat thing to spend some time on because there are always new things to figure out. Here are some of my favourite photos that I have editted over the past months. I hope you enjoy them! If you've never heard of Picnik you should check it out: www.picnik.com

Here is my boyfriend and I out in the snow
This is my new favourite photo of us!

The site has a neat collage feature that anyone can use.
Here is a collage that I created using the same photo.
This photo is really intense, I think!

This photo looks a lot better when it's bigger I guess.
It looks kind of plain, but I love it all the same.

Here is a collage I created of my boyfriend and I.
It's got lyrics from a song I really liked at the time by Theory of a Dead Man.
I thought it suited the photos really well.

I think I have posted this photo before.
I had fun editting and adding different features to it.

This is a photo I took last summer of a heart-shaped cloud.
I editted it a bit and added a heart to make the cloud stand out more.
See if you can find it! :)

Here are some photos of my closest girlfriends.

I love this photo so much!
We really are going to be friends forever!
We have been friends for 5 years now and plan on going away to school together!

The colours in this photo make me look so happy!
I love this feature on Picnik!

I used the collage feature to bring out different aspects of the same photo here.
The colour editting that I did brings out the sky so much more!

Don't forget to express yourself!

days well spent

I am now off for a week since the semester has now come to a close. Doors are in the middle of closing and new doors are soon going to be opened. I am excited for what the next couple months will bring. Even though I am working, my Nikon and I have been travelling around hand in hand. Here is a collection of random photos I have been snapping through out the past couple days.

I love this photo of my boy!
I also love the fact that he loves this photo!

Here is my front yard looking magical one snowy day!
I love snow!

This is very random but interesting.
Contradicts my other winter photos since this is a heater haha

This I had to show you, it's priceless! lmao
How can that possibly be comfortable!?

I am glad how well this photo turned out!
I really like so many things about it.

Lots more to come!

caught in the act

I'm done schooooollll for a week and a half now! I'm so excited!! Look at all the free time I'm going to have now to go out with my Nikon! :)
The other day we had family over for my aunt's birthday and we had a little table of nibblies to keep everyone satisfied. Well, all the animals went crazy and luckily I had my Nikon in my hand the whole time. These pictures are hilarious which is why I'm sharing them with you!

Here is the cat trying to get a plate

Here is the cat trying to snatch a piece of ham

This is just hilarious so I thought I would put it up lmao

The cat trying to sneak in from behind

let it snow

So this blog was supposed to be for school, but I've been thinking about keeping it updated... why not? It's a neat way to show off some photography stuff and vent about whatever I feel like :) It's a stereotype that girls always keep diaries, but I've actually kept a journal since in I can remember! It's a healthy thing, I think! I haven't done it or so for the past year or two and I have realized that I have missed it now! Enough about that anyways, now about the Nikon!
We sure got dumped on these past couple days! In some places there is over 3 feet of snow in my yard! For fun, my boyfriend and I went outside one night to get into some snowy mischief.. I was careful to keep my Nikon dry though :) Here are some pictures demonstrating the ridiculous amount of snow we have! Prepare to be amazed! haha

Haha half this pile is shovelled snow, it makes my back hurt just looking at it!

I just like this photo because of the lamp in it :)
It's so Christmas-y!

The 'tegra is snowed in!

This is all fallen snow baby.
It's deeper then it looks!
Trust me - I stepped in it and it all went in my boots!

I love how you can see all the snow in this photo!
It's so pretty!

This is just ridiculous!

What a goof! :)

This is unbelievable!
There is 3 feet of snow on that patio table! haha

That tree looks freaking huge!
I love this photo!

Stop laughing at me!

be creative

Through out this semester I have been part of a class called comm tech: computer technology.
computer technology noun
the activity of designing and constructing and programming computers
We always get neat projects, some to do with photography, where we can always be creative. I thought I would post some of my designs on here so I will still have them when the memory of my file gets deleted out of the system next semester. Also, to share with you. The main photos I have all taken through out the year... not with my nikon :(. All of these projects were designed using photoshop. Let me know what you think!

For this project we had to design a poster for a non-profit organization.
Luckily, I got Canada's Breast Cancer Foundation.
I was very proud of this poster and am a big supporter of the foundation.

One of our big projects was to design a whole magazine.
This is the cover of my magazine.
I took the photo and cropped and editted it with Photoshop.

This photo illustration was designed to portray the hold technology has on all of us.
A lot of us have based our lives around technology - I know I sure have!
The original photo I took was my brother and the rest I got off the internet or drew on.

This project was hilarious - we had to take 4 photos of different people
and use one part of each photograph to create a new person.
The product is pretty creepy, but I was impressed with how well it all blended together.

I created this in some free time I had really quickly, so it is kind of crappy.
I laugh at it though everytime.
That is my car in the middle and the rest I cropped and got off the internet.
NeoNatioN!

Maybe this is corny, but I created this in my free time as well.
I took all of the photos except for the book that is faded in the background which I got off the internet.
It's cute no matter what you think :P

This photo illustration was designed to portray the many stresses that student's have upon themselves.
I'm sure many of you will understand as you are students yourselves.
I have taken some of these photos and have taken a few off the internet.

Awaken your creative side!

random is good

So I was going through my camera and found some random shots that I thought I would share with you for something to do. There's random animals, objects, and landscape. Because they are random shots you might think they may not have the same amount of impact as the rest of my blogs. But scroll down and see for yourself.

I was able to creep up close enough to this goose to snap this photo.
I never knew how tame these animals were until I began to snap photo after photo of them.
Eventually they began all walking and swimming towards me hoping I had some food to share.

I had lots of fun photographing different geese.
This is the same goose as before.
I guess I was getting a little to up close and personal for him.

This is Andrew's pup, Memphis.
Everyone thinks german shepherd's are vicious dogs, but he proves you wrong.
He is the most gentle dog I know and still acts like a pup even though he is almost 3 years old.
Here he is waiting for his mama to come home after work in the snow.

Here is my proof of Memphis' playful attitude.
He was rolling around the floor playing with his rope when I snapped this shot.
He's such a cutie :)
It looks like he enjoys being in the spotlight of the camera!

I love taking photos in mirrors.
I was sitting in the passenger seat of my truck on Christmas day.
My favourite part of this picture is the sky, looks like we're in for a big storm!

Here I am still in the truck.
It's weird to think about how blank this photo looks,
but in all seriousness there is a life saving device photographed here!

This was right after I opened my camera on Christmas morning.
Thank you dad for charging the battery over night! :)
Daizee Mae looks so innocent here in the sunlight, I love it!

This picture seems very dull, but I love it for some reason.
The dull lighting and background bring out the bright colours of the tooth brushes.
Mine's the orange one :)

Take 'er easy!
