I'm found!

I know, I know, I've been missing for a week or so. A lot of stuff has been going on right now so I have not had much time at all for anything! I've been working, first of all. I started my new semester and am co-oping at a public school a few minutes away from my house. I had my first day yesterday and it was awesome! :) It proves to me that I really want to be in the profession of teaching! Which made me feel good, I felt like I belonged. My parents just left today on a trip for a week so I am going to be holding down the fort. Hopefully all is well when I speak with you next! Thanks for keeping tabs on me :)

This photo may look like a mess to some.
I love all the colours that are shouting out at me!
It's a big basket of creativity and I love it :)
It goes along with my personality.

First of all, the word standing out at me is ANGEL.
Second of all, who doesn't enjoy a little SCRABBLE!

I was wandering around experimenting with photos.
I like the way this one turned out.

Here I am wandering around again.
I love the colours in these photos.
Of course, it is also Valentine's Day appropriate!

Si looks so innocent!
What a beauty :)

Your curiosity is much appreciated!

don't fight your instincts

So I haven't been writing much because I have surprisingly had a busy week. I do still have pictures to add however of whatever sparked some inspiration in me this week. They are all of random things, but some of them are pretty neat and original! (I hope). I really do take my Nikon everywhere as you can probably tell by now, but this really proves it. You never want to be caught empty handed if something neat catches your eye! Hope you'll like them!

I was sitting in my car waiting for my friend to get home and was bored.
Why not snap some shots?
This is pretty neat how everythings glowing (as it should lol)

Here is one of my prized possessions right now, my purse.
The shadows add a lot of depth to the photo, making the colours stand out more!

I found this guy all by himself at the dollar store and couldn't leave him alone!
He is so cute lol so I put him in my car :)
Doesn't he look happy now?

No integra's were harmed in the making of this photo.

This 'hole in the wall' leads into our downtown area.
It looks like a whole other different area on the other side.
The door is wide open and the path is clear!

Here's the 'tegra at a much happier time lol
with his proud owner behind the wheel.

Here's our new advertisement!

She looks so innocent here!
It is such a cute picture

Look at her little hands holding the cracker!
This is so adorable, but also interesting at the same time.

Keep on snappin'!

school can be cool?!

Now I know that these pictures weren't taken with my new Nikon, but we're all just gonna have to ignore that fact for the moment. Earlier this year we had a sweet project given to us in my comm tech class. It was a huge photography project that I had a lot of fun with. I was proud with a lot of my photos and want to share them with you now :)

This picture is hilarious, but very cute and unique :)

I was following my boy in his car and I couldn't resist.
Doesn't the tegra* look nice?
*the tegra = integra (for future reference)

We were required to have a portfolio full of pictures of irony.
This picture is quite ironic if I do say so myelf.
This was downtown in the middle of the day, people kept driving by thinking we were insane!
Thanks to my boy for helping me out :)

I love this picture.
The tegra's at the beach watching the sunset.
The sky looks amazing!

I actually took this picture with my phone so it is kind of crappy quality,
but it still looks awesome!

We were randomly out for lunch one day when I took this.
We were goofing around a bit, I didn't realize how interesting this was until after.

Here is one of the cutest little girls around; my best friends niece.
This photo captures her innocence so well :)

I took this picture at the beginning of the year not realizing how much pride I would take in it later.
I love how the ball is sitting in front and the whole team is walking towards it.
Looks like our raiders are ready to kick some buttttt!

You stay classy San Diego!

my Nikon and I

Since I can't go out right now, I am sitting here with my Nikon in my hand remembering all the good times we have had together so far. The first week after I got my Nikon, the two of us were inseparable. Within the first two weeks I had taken nearly 500 photos. I went on a couple adventures over the Christmas break while learning how to navigate the incredible camera. Here are some of my favourite photos that arose out of those certain adventures.

I love how my Nikon catches the lighting in this photo.
This photo is so Christmas-y it could help me feel the Christmas spirit in the middle of July.

My Nikon, best friend, and I made a quick visit to the beach for some photos.
I saw the beach frozen over like this a few weeks before and couldn't believe it.
I have lived in this town for over 16 years and have never seen anything this incredible!
My friend was yelling at me 'catch the birds, catch the birds!'... so this one's for you Rachael.

This is, and probably always will be, one of my favourite photos that I first took with my Nikon.
The focus is incredible for me.
I feel like I could stare at this picture for hours and never quite get bored of it.

The sun came out quickly while I was taking this photo.
The ice looks magical captured here.
It looks like there is a tidal wave in the background, but don't worry, it's just clouds.

So I spilled a bowl of popcorn down my stairs and this is what came out of it.

The reason this photo intrigues me is because of the one button that stands out from the rest: "TALK".

No need to explain this photo, look at that smile! :)

shout outs to my brothers!

oh, woe is me

Here I am.. sitting in my bed day after day.. wishing I was out and about with my friends, there are many things that need to be photographed! Why am I sitting in bed might you ask? Well, my boyfriend thought it would be nice of him to share his sickness with me! What a nice guy, haha. I've been sick for the past 4 or 5 days and am bored out of my mind. The next few weeks are going to be busy because of work, upcoming exams, and university application deadlines. And like I said before... my Nikon is calling my name!
I did have a quick chance for photography practise this weekend when I went to watch the Clarke boy's kick some butt at a basketball tournament Friday night. We ended up winning this game and went on through the rest of the tournament to win third place in the standings. Third place is the best any Clarke team has ever done at this particular tournament. Congrats boys! Here are a few shots I managed to snap in between my hootin' and hollerin'.... and coughing.

The boy's looking silly while doing a mandatory warm-up before the game starts.

Tip-off at the start of the game

My boy taking a free throw...

...and my boy rocking the floor :)
He may be #22 on the court, but he's #1 in my heart!

A quick time-out during the fourth quarter
the boys look mighty focused, if I do say so myself

Thanks for listening to my complaining, it is much appreciated! :)

my new baby!

Well I hope everyone had a good Christmas and new years! I most certainly did! I got spoiled this Christmas since Santa brought me what I asked for + more! I got a brand new Nikon D40 camera and 2 new lenses; an 18-55mm and 55-200mm.
So now I'm the nerd out of all my friends that is going to be taking pictures every chance I get! This is why I decided to start my blog on digital photography... or more like Nikon photography :)

Peace out homies,

- NikoNation
